What is religion? The world encyclopedia defines   Religion as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods also as Details of belief as taught or discussed (Britannica.com).
Religion is a compilation of cultural systems, belief systems and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. Many religions have narratives symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the universe (Dictionary.com).
Religions attempt to explain questions such as why are we here. How did we get here? What is our purpose on this Earth and how were we created? Where do we go once we die? Will suffering ever end? Many more questions still exist.
Discuss the criteria you will employ to determine if people on earth are religious in other words, what does religion look like?
In today’s world there exist many types of religions. If one had to find out how religious people are on this earth, the first method that one would employ should be observation. Observing humans in their given cultures will give a clear picture as to where they stand from a religious standpoint or lack thereof. Religions differ around the world.  
Statistics and recent reports would also be good points of observation. One report stated that   Christianity held 2.1 billion followers, Islam 1.5 billion, Hinduism 900 million, Buddhism   376 million, primal-indigenous300,African Traditional & Diasporic   100 million, Sikhism 23 million ,Judaism 14 million, Baha’i 7 million, Jainism 4.2 million Shinto 4 million (Fisher, 2011).
Religions differ around the world. For instance, religions such as Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism can be found in Asian cultures. Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism can be found in Indian cultures. Christianity can be found predominantly in Western cultures and Islam can be...
