Bead Bar Network
The Bead Bar is a company that allows customers to make their own jewelry with beads, wires, and strings. The Bead Bar has three divisions: studios, franchises, and Bead Bar on Board. The company employs around thirty five people, both full and part time.
Over the past three years, the Bead Bar has made around 1.5 million a year. Currently the Bead Bar is using a paper based system for their products, employees, and inventory. The Bead Bar is currently searching for an upgrade in modern technology to help end the paper system.
The Bead Bar is in need of a strong network system for both local and distant communications. With the Bead Bar using the paper system, they take a risk of losing orders, errors on invoices, and it may take longer to fulfill orders. The Bead Bar needs an information technology system that will allow them to have a website. The system must also allow them to share information to different locations; this information must be confidential and secure.
Computers are important for any business. With a computer network, the Bead Bar could do away with the paper based system. The computer network will allow Bead Bar to have organization, it will be easier to fill orders, and it would be easier to do inventory. The computer network system will make the Bead Bar’s life and business much easier.
With the Bead Bar’s paper system, you would think that any computer network system will do; it is not that simple. When dealing with a company like the Bead Bar, certain things have to be considered before making a decision. Things that need to be considered would be: employees, locations, supply requirements, and accounting. With the Bead Bar growing fast, they will need something affordable but effective.
