THE COMPUTER HISTORY AND PRESENT
Lets Begin with defining what a computer is.
A computer is a Multi-purpose electronical device used to accept, store, process and finally output data through its outputting devices.
We also need to see how Computers came into existence. This is known as computer evolutions. But before that, let’s first see the first computers.
An abacus was the first machine that led to the present day computer. After that, a machine known as Jacquard weaving loam that first stored programmes using metal cards with punched holes was introduced. In 1620, there was another machine that was used as a computer. This was the Slide rule. It was used to multiply and divide through adding and subtracting.
Other devices like the Napier’s bones, Pascal’s adding machine, Joseph Marie Jacquard and others were introduced which are the fore runners of today’s computer
THE EVOLUTION OF COMPUTERS.
This refers to technological advancement of computers over years.
Computer Evolutions can also be called computer generations
In each computer generation, advancements have been made i.e. from the first to the fifth computer generation; more technology has been used as we shall see in the characteristics.
