The advertisement for the product use positive motivation because it makes the person watching feel good about themselves towards being hygienic or ‘attracting’ the female gender by using the product, which is the outcome at the end of the advertisement where the man sprays the deodorant on himself and the woman/s make out with him. By creating this image to the viewer, he wants to feel the same way and be just like the man, so when we are positively motivated we believe it takes us closer to the goal, it will benefit us more than any cost associated with it and it will be rewarded by a sense of proficiency that comes with achieving that goal. By using the product, we believe it will be worthwhile and go on with it thinking positively by reacting to it and purchasing it.
The product can be at times superior (commodities that are more in demand as consumer income rises.) or inferior (commodities that are less in demand as consumer income rises.), but it all depends on the social class really if they could afford it or not because Lynx are pretty expensive in the supermarkets and the price usually never drops. The prices range from $4.95 100G (Older models) to $5.95 100G (New models). As it shows it can be Inferior as income rises, someone tends to buy this product which is more known and advertises more on TV, however it can be superior for others because they won’t care how much it costs, as long as it smells nice.
