1. How does e-mail benefit an organization?
There are many different ways that e-mail can benefit an organization. An employee can send and receive important information such as data files or a graphs that show information needed by various parts of an organization. These items or information can be sent quickly and to multiple people at the same time. E-mail also gives employees more time to work on other projects instead of being on the phone or having to walk across a large building to get or share information that he/she or other coworkers may need.
2. Why might an organization want to limit how an employee uses e-mail during work hours?
An organization might want to limit how an employee uses email during work hours for many reasons. Personal use on company time, ability to divulge company or sensitive information are among just a many of the reasons why a company would want to limit employee e-mail during work hours.
3. What is an e-mails path once it leaves an organization?
An emails path once it leaves an organization is determined and travels via use of information coded into the headers which include the sender and receiver lines in the email. This information directs it though an organizations mail server and out onto the internet where it finds the shortest path to its destination based on internet traffic. It picks up more information along the way every time it passes through a server on the internet on its way to its destination and its path can be traced back to its origin through the headers encoded into the email.
