Blackmail
And here is the explanation.But there is one thing I need to explain to you.

Blackmail is quite similar to extortion—but there are some difference between them.
Extortion:- refers to unlawfully obtaining (or attempting to obtain) money, property or services from a person, entity, or institution, through coercion.
But inorder ot make you guys better understand the differences.I found two simple examples

In short,Blackmail is a threat to reveal information unless paid. Extortion is a threat of violence unless paid.

1)A suite in a hotel is usually expensive .The suite the Croydons are staying in is St. Gregory hotel’s largest and most elaborate, called the Presidential Suite, which has housed, according to the book, a succession of distinguished guests, including visiting presidents and royalty.

Why did Ogilvie actually took twice that time when he arrived at the suite? He was slow in coming because he wanted to create the impression that he was a busy and important man and to keep the Croydons on tenterhooks.
