Water Resource Plan
The problem that is stated in the video is that large species of fish are disappearing due to the fact that they are being over fished. Some scientist believe that the whole problem is due to these fisherman all going out there and overfishing for these high priced fish. They believe that this is the biggest reason for the decline in the large species of fish. Some of the fisherman on the other hand doesn’t think that what they are doing is as damaging as the scientists have said. One fisherman would like more research done to find out what is causing it and what we can do to resolve it. One environmentalist thinks that should place zones in the ocean to make certain spots unfishable. He believes that this would give the fish time to revamp. He thinks that would help us to not lose this resource and still be able to fish for them just not in certain spots. I do not think that this plan is a good one. First how are we going to control where people go fishing it would take a lot to control it.
The Sustainability plan
1. Action items: My plan for sustaining the big fish to be able to survive is to educate the fisherman on the severe impact that it is having on the environment and that we might totally destroy this resource. Then to show the plan of starting the new program that is very similar to what we see with hunting. Each fisherman will be allowed to only fish a certain number of fish.
2. Order of action items: 1) Educate the fisherman 2) Schedule a presentation day and time 3) invite the community 4) Put the new plan into effect
3. Action steps: I will go to the fishing communities and educate these fishermen about the effect that it is having. Then I will schedule a presentation and invite all the fishermen and the community to come. I will then inform them of the plan to keep this resource around for a long time.
