The Divine Comedy

The Divine Comedy is a form of poetry written by Dante Alighieri. The sin in
Canto thirty four was betrayal and the punishment was being chewed up for eternity by
Satan. This punishment fits the sin many ways which all is justifiable because of the
magnitude of sin.
The chewing punishment for eternity fits the sin of betrayal because betrayal is the worst and most deceiving sin that there is.
Along with the physical punishment, there is a mental punishment of having to
live with their sins for all of eternity.
There are many other sins that have been committed but none deserves a
extremely harsh punishment like betrayal does.
All sins are meant to be punished but, some sins have more extreme types of
punishment. The punishment used in Canto Thirty Four fits the sin of betrayal because it
was one of the worst sins. This was all shown in the poetry called the Divine Comedy
which, was written by Dante Aligheri.
