English 1323-11 – Freshman Composition and Literature

COURSE DESCRIPTION
An introduction to the principles of composition and rhetoric accomplished through the writing of expository essays and through the study both of the principles of composition and of eesays that employ specific rhetorical strategies. English 1323 is a continuation of the study of composition and rhetoric introduced in ENGL 1313. ENGL 1323 concentrates on the writing of expository, argumentative and researched essays through the study of the principles of composition, research and literary analysis. Students complete a research paper.
COURSE SEQUENCE IN CURRICULUM AND PREREQUISITE INFORMATION
Successful completion of ENGL 1313 or its equivalent.
