Objective
In order to survive in a distance-learning environment I have complied myself a few tips to follow. These tips will help me become a better student. Some of these tips I will follow throughout my schooling are as follows: Upholding academic honesty, setting and achieving goals, managing my time wisely, fostering reading comprehension and retention, and finally applying personality and learning styles.
Using Axia’s Educational Resources
Axia has many educational resources that are going to be extremely helpful to me in my academic career. One resource that I find to be extremely helpful is the audio resources. I think the audio resources are exceptional because sometimes people understand information better when it is being spoken to them. Tutorials are my favorite tool that Axia College provides. Tutorials help me understand how to use the different tools that the school offers. I have learned so much about the University library through reading these tutorials. The Center for Writing Excellence, school library, Center for Math Excellence, and wide variety of student workshops are just a few other educational resources Axia’s student website offers. Axia’s student website makes distance-learning much easier, and will help me achieve excellence.
Two databases in the library are EBSCOhost and Gale PowerSearch. I plan to search these by making sure I use key words in my searches to narrow down results. I also plan to search peer-reviewed articles. Peer reviewed articles make better sources because they are looked over by other people besides the author; this makes them more reliable because more than just one person agrees with it. I will perform internet searches by using more than one search engine, making the most of advanced searching features and using quotes around the words I want next to each other (for example "City Hall.")...
