A Summer Day
“Big Sister”
I was walking through the house looking for my younger brother Sam. He was nowhere to be found. I don’t know what to do or say when I find my father setting in his old beaten up brown chair, with his eyes red and watering. Right then I knew it, mom had been here. She took Sam! I thought to myself, “What do I do?” At that instant a thought came to my mind. I was going to get him by myself.
My things were packed and Dad was sleeping. I had a note that I left to tell my dad that (we) would be home soon. As I walked out the door my heart began to pound. My adrenaline was rushing. I was ready for this. The place I was going to was at least three hours away from home.
Once I arrived I began to ask questions like, “Do you know a woman by the name Kim?” or “Have you seen a young boy named Sam?” At last I found someone that knew my mother. They said that she was staying at a friend’s. I rushed there as fast as I possibly could. I got to the door, there sat Sam and mom. At that moment I began to scream and yell! My emotions were raging! I grabbed Sam and told her to never come near the both of us again! After a three hour ride we arrived home. Dad was ecstatic. We were okay and the both of us were home!
