It has grown from small beginnings in 1974 with a turnover €38 million to turnover of €4.65 billion in 20063. It should put its main focus on Asia/Pacific (particularly China and India) in partnership with a major competitor (Glanbia Plc) where the opportunities for growth are greater than in the Americas and the European Union. The joint venture should concentrate mainly on Food Ingredients which is the most profitable division of their businesses6.
