Liberty Theological Seminary Share Jesus without Fear Book Critique A Paper Submitted to Dr. Jonathan Bishop. In Partial Fulfillment Of the Requirements for the Course Contemporary Evangelism EVAN 565 By March 1, 2009 Bibliographical Entry Author Information Content Summary Fay’s words are strong when he points out the ‘sin of silence ‘and says failure to share the gospel or be around the lost, sick or dying as signs of a dying Christian life. After he addresses a case for testifying for Christ, he works to equip his readers with a user-friendly and easily-memorized approach that will open up conversations and lead to opportunities for sharing. Fay recommends five non-threatening and open-ended questions that are designed to get people thinking and talking about spiritual things and provide believers the opportunity to share scripture. In this book the author address several key issues following the initial time of witness. These issues include should you push for a decision for Christ, which Fay concludes with a solid no. This is Fay explains so that the new believer understands their salvation. Fay explains the use of follow up questions for the new believer, so that they understand their stake in Christ, as well as follow up to help in their discipleship, suggesting churches, bible study, and prayer (Fay, p.72). Evaluation Fay certainly accomplishes his goal of presenting an easy way for Christian to share their faith. His methods of allowing the sinner to answer verses out of the Bible allowing the Holy Spirit to work through the sinner, instead of the witness working through the sinner is a simple, and...
