“Rossiniana- Chamber Music”
While waiting for the performers to begin, I thought to myself this show will have me asleep within the first hour. But as I listened, I began to have a different aspect towards classical music and it made me appreciate it. I believe that classical musicians like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Mendelssohn paved the way for musical artist today. The musical performance I observed had about ten different performers; unlike an orchestra with many different members, this one had no head masters.
The pieces that were played were Quarter in A (1804); it was one work most people remember from Gioacchino Tossini, grand duo for violoncello and double bass, La Regata Veneziana, Serate Nusicale Duetto Buffo Di Due Gatti which was written by Rosssini. Resta Immobil, it was about how you need to pray to God so that you can be ready to go to heaven and when ever you were going through a time of trouble, just look up into heaven and he will carry you through. Angelina has three parts, before the regatta, during, and after the Regatta. I like the three parts of these pieces, but I thought it would be better if it was more so forte instead of piano. The way the performers were into their craft of music and also the hand movements were just amazing. It frequently would change its pitch. It was hard to define the tone color when the pitch would reach its highness. Almost if not all the piece were in church modes.
The performers are as follow Sharon Roffman for the Violin. Victoria Stewart for the violin. Juie Albers for the cello. Anthony Scelba on the double bass. Katherine Harris a soprano. Richard Hobson a baritone. Alexander Fiterstein on the clarinet. Allison Brewster Franzetti on the Piano.
