Finding the most qualified people in China who will fit within Riordon Manufacturing and contribute to the success of the organization is a continuing challenge. When hiring for specific positions the import fact to remember is the more skills an employees has the better the company will succeed. Manufacturing companies rely heavily on the skills of the workers, therefore, hiring and recruiting skilled workers is a mandatory for the continued success of Riordon. Recruiting knowledgeable employees must be the main concern for Riordon or the company’s move to China will be unsuccessful.
Over the last eight months, the human resource managers at Riordan Manufacturing Company have noticed a sharp decline in the number of qualified applicants for workers on the assembly line at the China facility. This is creating tension on the assembly line from workers putting vast hours of overtime. The workers have stated over and again that the positions are not being advertised correctly or filled in a timely manner. Upper management has asked the human resource team for analysis of the dilemma along with a suggestion of a solution to the crisis that includes an in depth flow-chart of the process. The human resource team quickly set about reviewing the processes involved with advertising positions, receiving applications, and interviewing for the open positions on the assembly line.
