Part I – The Origin and Development of Ethical Thought, question 1
The ethical process that one goes through when transforming from a child to an adult is one that involves forming a cosmology and anthropology. We are raised in ways that our caregivers see fit in raising us. The views of the world are depicted through their eyes. What is considered right and wrong comes from their sociological view on society. When we reach an age in which we are capable of making these decisions on our own we have developed our anthropology the view on human behavior. In this same transformation as stated we also develop our cosmology, or the always view. This view is generally shaped by the customs and traditions that many of us participated in as a child. In my family I went to Church every Sunday morning thus giving me the theology of Divine Command Ethics. Sometimes these views are easy to come by and sometimes they’re not. When troubled we tend to seek out our theology through ethical reasoning. Some of these reasoning are Divine Command Ethics which states that we don’t think in terms of right but in that of a higher power. Natural law which says trust no divine commander trust intuition only or their rector rosio (right reasoning). Teleology is the theory of having goals or ends and to achieve these we must have moral good. Sophism is the belief in which there is no order; the belief in chaos, and utilitarianism or porportionalism, the maximizing of goods and minimizing of evil.
