Overview
Erik Erikson was one of the first to conduct an analysis of a historical figure. These psychobiographies are useful to understand why important figures in history have behaved in a particular way. In this exercise you will be asked to conduct a psychobiography on a historical or fictional character to help increase your understanding of the chosen theories.

Please choose your character carefully. There should be a sufficient amount of information about the person to allow for an in-depth analysis of the individual’s personality. Please email me on or before your second test day with a proposal of an individual you would like to analyze. Failure to do so will result in a deduction of 5%.
For this paper you are required to provide some background biographical information on your figure, an overview of two theories, and an analysis of your individual based on the two theories. You are required to use at least two sources (beyond your textbook) to describe the theories you have chosen. Please present the information about the theories separately. You can choose any theory or theorist from the text book. However, certain theorists are more applicable for this assignment. I would suggest you use two from the following list: Freud, Jung, Horney, Erikson, Skinner, Bandura, Rotter, Rogers, Maslow, or Kelly.
Approximately 15 percent of your paper should be biographical information (not analyzed, but there to set the scene), 25 percent of your paper should be pure theory (outlining the tenants of the theoretical perspective/s you chose), and the remaining 60% should be an analysis of your figure using a theory and identifying supportive biographical details for your analysis.
