Psychology is more experimental based on observation and experiments and Philosophy is more theoretical based on logical reasoning. For example, psychologists collect data on a specificgroup of people about their behavior, feeling, attitude, desires. Based on these data they try to come up with a specific theory which will be applicable to that group of people. Psychological reasoning is based on in mathematical precision and experimental isolation of variables. On the other hand, Philosophical reasoning is based on one to one dialogue and argument.
Philosophy is more foundational. If verify the inner meaning of something by asking questions, and finds the answer based on logical reasoning. The main goal of philosophy is a systematic word view. Philosophy is so huge that it can not be specify within any subject matter. It may deal with every dimension of human life and can raise questions in any field of study or endeavor. In terms of academic discipline philosophy include- Philosophy of science, religion, law, history, economic, art, psychology, etc. Hence trying to tie philosophy exclusively to one or any specific shape would be an unjustified limitation of its reach.
As I mentioned earlier philosophy mainly depends on logical reasoning; it does not rely on any scientific experiment and observation. Logical reasoning might not be acceptable by most of the people because every people have their own way of thinking. Another way to say, that philosophy sometime socially constructed. Human being lives in the society. Society gives them their value and identity. For example, a poor person in Ethiopia obviously will have different meaning of life than a person in the U.S. He will be very blessed if he would get food at least once or twice per day, but it will not be case most of people in the United Stated or any other develops nations.
