Narrative Essay
I’m usually the normal, loud kid of my class in High School but a lot of people know me as I have something more to do other than normal schoolwork. Fellow friends and teachers have been asking me if I wanted to do something different. Meaning they wanted me to join a new sport of some sort in my senior year of High School.
It was the final months of my junior year in High School and tryouts for all sorts of teams for next year are in recruitment. I was urging myself to not join anything because I wanted to focus real on school work at studies so when I hit college, I will be okay. So throughout the month of March, tryout for a majority of the teams was over. But for the past two years, I’ve always wanted to join cheerleading sense I came to find out that it was a love of the sport inside of me. It was always a passion of mine that at football games I have always cheered on the team as loud as I can and others became a notice of it. One girl of the varsity cheer team from last year recommended me that I should do cheer sense my voice was loud and anybody can hear it a mile away. The girl’s name was Stephanie and she had convinced me enough that I should do cheerleading for my senior year.
I spoke to my family of doing cheer and they agreed I should do it so I can explore new things in my life. One other thing of doing cheerleading is that I will be the first male cheerleader in school sense 12 years ago and the first cheerleader in my family. It would be a lot of pressure on me if I do cheer as I would have all eyes on me and I’m not used to the attention. It’s an achievement in my ability to be more outgoing than my usual self. I mean, I was just a boy who didn’t do much besides hang out at friend’s houses and play video games day to day. It was mainly a hobby of me as an everyday thing but now I just wanted to try something new. I thought of having to yell, “Defense!” into the crowd would be a passion of me from week after week...
