Love, Courtship, And Marriage

LOVE

The Christian style of life can be summed up in two ideas: understanding the costly nature of God’s Love and then loving others in the same way He loves us. Jesus great commandment to us is that we “love one another as I have loved you.”
The more you try to protect yourself, the more you will be hurt. When you give the game everything you’ve got, you are in much less danger of receiving injuries. The Christian live is like that too. As we willingly lose and begin to be relevant to the world’s needs in the name of Christ.
We are afraid to love, to be loved, to get really close to other people. We fear that they will hurt and laugh at us. As we come to know Christ, we know that we can trust Him, but we are suspicious of one another.
In Jesus Christ there is word of affirmation and encouragement. We hear Him commanding us to “love one another as I have loved you” urging us to use the keys of the kingdom to unlock the mystery of personality.

COURTSHIP

Young people, always caution to be careful about a fiancé who seems to have no interest in physical love. The healthiest kind of relationship between two Christians who intend to marry, both are strongly drawn to each other sexually but in which both understand that premarital sexual intercourse would destroy something wonderful and sacred that God has planned, and each helps the other to abstain. Lack of interest in physical love, which often passes for sexual purity, may actually signal a difficult psychological adjustment – e.g. latent homosexuality.

MARRIAGE

Through well-meaning, friends or teachers or through romantic literature we have and idealized picture of a truly Christian marriage.
It is important that a man and woman preparing for marriage understand and something of the end product that God intends.
If they look for a relationship without conflict; moodiness, or touchiness, with never any shadows to mar the light, they are bound to end in frustration and despair. But if...
