Discuss the problems face when maintaining confidentiality between the consultant, consultee and client system relationships as well as when consulting over the internet.
Confidentiality in consultation and collaboration is both important and complex. Confidentiality is meant to protect privacy and promote trust. Consultees should feel safe in stating their concerns.
When consulting on the internet there’s no such thing as total confidentiality. When posing and answering such complex questions at the outset of consultation, getting consensus on the answers, and publicizing this consenus can prevent problems from occurring later on in the consultation process.
When working with the client system, the same level of confidentiality is expected from the consultant.
