Interclean has been a leader in sanitation industry and the industrial cleaning. With the recent acquision of Envirotech the adopted a vision of creating a new market by providing a complete solution to the customer. This change and acquisition has created some HR issues such as communication between employees and management, training, and recruiting issues. The challenges facing Interclean at this time are related to these issues.
At this time the best solution for Interclean would involve current employees and utilizing and educating them the vision and where they would be used within the company. Interclean needs to put together a final skills assessment to provide the solution that will benefit the needs of management and shareholders. Once this is complete an examination of the current staff and the Envirotech staff needs to be done and a written plan on developing and utilize the staff while incorporating new members. With the merger of the companies with very different skills set, it will be very essential that the teams be diverse. Diversity will ensure the customers receive all aspects of the solution and products that Interclean has to offer. Once this analysis has been completed, a communication needs to go out to current employees explaining the needs that need to be met, strategy and skills necessary to fill these positions. If at all possible the needs should be met with employees from within interclean. If there is any employee that is capable of meeting the need and requirements of a position then HR will invest the time and money in the employee to better train them so that they can better qualify for internal position rather then hire new employees or fill the position from Envirotech.
