The purpose of this report is to provide Information Solutions with an overall critique of its organization as well as present possible solutions to better the company as a whole. Identifying negative impacts and presenting the organization with strategic resolutions will offset Information Solutions to become a leading company in the industry.
Background
Information Solutions, a computer consultancy company, evolved approximately five years ago in New Zealand. The company started with two brothers who had a vision to help other organizations maintain suitable computer programs to operate accordingly. Since the five year span, Information Solutions has grown rapidly resulting in a corporate office in Auckland and four regional offices in Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Moreover, the company has engaged in the task of expanding overseas. Currently, Information Solutions is occupied with the intense task of opening up an office in Indonesia.
Information Solutions organizational structure consists of two brothers, Peter and Derek Taylor, who are the co-founders of the company and sixty six employees total. Of the 66 employees, thirty are at the corporate office. The sixty six employees consist of regional managers and the remaining are amongst the two divisions of the company, solutions and support. Information Solutions has a structural organizational culture. The company heavily relies on the instruction on the co-owners who propose downward communication throughout the company.
The solutions department consists of business analysts and information technology consultants specializing in information systems that specifically meet the needs of its consumers.
