Harrison-Keyes Publishing desires to become a market leader in e-publishing to continue revenue growth and competitiveness. The publishing company is having difficulty gaining author acceptance for the initiative along with problems in the integration of technology and delivery of electronic materials. Generic benchmarking studies can be used to identify alternative methods or concepts that have worked in similar situations that may be applicable to H-K. The development of the e-publishing strategy is a direction that the leadership team needs to meet the chief executive officer’s vision of the company. An understanding of key planning and implementation concepts through effective generic benchmarking will illustrate the benefits of executing the strategy.
