Has anyone ever told you that you couldn’t do something? Or that something was impossible because of given circumstances? Impossible is nothing. No matter where you come from, who you are, what you do- you can always accomplish more than you think. Everything is possible. Freedom Writers is a great movie that shows that you can do anything, if you believe that you can. Faith is what gets you where you want to be. The movie- Freedom Writers- inspires me to go after what I want, believe and have faith in everyone, and to never give up.
You must go after what you want in order to get where you want to be. Mrs. Gruwell knew that the principal and the vice principal were not going to support her with desire to teach the children better, so she went to the school board. In order for her to teach the children in a better environment, she had to pick her battles and fight for what she believed in. She believed that the kids should be able to learn with more than what they were given, so she went after what she believed in. By going to the school board with her needs, she didn’t accomplish what she had hoped for. But that didn’t stop her, she worked 2 other jobs to support her job as a teacher and she bought all new books for her students. The students in the movie also show a great deal of determination. At first, they didn’t care about anything except for themselves and “their kind”, but by the end of the movie- their thoughts on life had changed. They wanted to learn, they wanted to be better than what they were expected to be. Therefore, each student started off by letting go of their past and started a new year by a “toast for change”. Each student was determined to change their whole lives, just by exceeding the limits they were given. They were determined to be the first in there family to graduate, to not become a pregnant teenager, etc. The students in the movie really inspired me to exceed the limits of what I’m given.
