Hamlet And Laertes
Hamlet and Laertes have allot in common. They both are students,
attending school in a foreign land. They are both young men with issues to
overcome. They are both aggressive in there actions. For instance, in the
scene with Hamlet and his mother, Hamlet kills Polonius. Hamlet only does
this because he thinks that Polonius is a spy. This could almost be considered
an overreaction. Laertes is also aggressive in the fact that when he finds out
that his father, Polonius, has been slain. He comes back from school and
confronts the king himself. This is a bold move. The two are also the same
because they plot to kill the people that killed there parents. Hamlet does this by having the players act out similar actions to his fathers death. He does this to find out if Claudius really killed his father. After Hamlet Find out that Claudius did kill his father he plans to murder him, so that he goes to hell.
Laertes plans to have Hamlet killed by getting in cahoots with Claudius.
They plan to have a sparing match, which in the end Hamlet will die. This
will give Laertes the revenge he wants. Tragically everyone dies in the end.
Another contributing factor to the horrible ending is that Hamlet can

and relate to women is the real factor that eventually causes the tragic ending.
Hamlets mother is the real cause of all of Hamlets problems. If she would
have waited to marry Claudius, Hamlet would not have so suspicious. From
the beginning he thinks that women are week and, or frail. Hamlet says this
in Act I scene II line 146, "Frailty, Thy name is Woman!". Another example
is when Hamlet is watching the play. This is Act III scene II Lines 132-133,
this is the scene where Hamlet tells us that woman's love is brief. I think that this also shows that Hamlet thinks that women are, just there. Now, Ophelia is there to confuse Hamlet, she adds to his...
