And God Said

And God said “let there be light”
And then there was light
Through Dark heavy long nights of fright
A beam of hope, freedom and equal human rights
Muhammad, peace be upon him, had arrived
With a gentle smile and noble sight
To spread love, compassion, honesty and light
And asked a black slave to give the first call for prayers, and invite
Everyone to the path of peace, love, and unity
He won the hearts of Jews, Hindus and Christian alike
Forgave every foe without hurting his pride
Even those who made him suffer in unlimited plight
Finally, He entered Mecca, as the Lord’s humble knight
Enlightened the world and left us the Quran to recite
That tells us that if we do everything right
Our future, not only on earth but in heaven, will be bright
And yes He was the light

After many years of glory and rise
The ignorance and downfall of Muslims starkly becomes a plight
Illiteracy, ignorance, and intolerance spreads out as blight
And destroy the noble virtues in a slight
But horrifying blasts of 9/11 made everyone erroneously realize
That all the Muslims of world are terrorists alive
Today a mosque, a beard, and a veil are the symbols of fright
I see all this hatred and fear on surface and deep inside
And ask myself, Are they to be blamed or its us who did not do some things right?
My question is answered in the court of my heart and mind
Yes we are to be blamed for our plight!
We call ourselves Muslims but we are decimated
Into sects, and creeds all spreading hatred and war, in which we delight
We did not learn our lesson, even history wise
How was Baghdad first time captured and butcherised?
When an argument on a stage was going live
Between the Shia sect and the Sunni sect, a fight
Who is wrong and who is right.
Yes we are to be blamed alright!
What a pity that we cannot unite
We do not educate our women and we take them
As a breeding machine that has to produce every year a child
Although 1500 years ago Muhammad, peace...
