The Adaptation of the Roman and Greek Civilization in the Modern Era.
The development in our era has a previous background that many people were not aware about. There were many things and systems founded that still current until today. The Greeks and Roman were bright civilizations that created many ways to improve their lives. Architecture, politics, philosophy, literature and arts were some of the fields in which those two cultures were prevalent on. There are some factors why Greek and Roman civilizations relate to the modern society nowadays.
The social system established in the Roman Empire is the best example applied in the modernity nowadays. The social structure was divided between Patricians and Plebeians,”Power was concentrated in the hands of the upper class (the patricians), although the lower class (the plebeians) was permitted to form its own assembly.” That is reflected now as high and low classes in the modern era. United States is still remarkable for three social classes, but there are other countries like Brazil where for the economical situation the society is almost divided in two types: high and low.
The political structure of the United States Congress is the replica of the Roman Empire. “While the use of cultural unity to underpin political stability soon became a feature of the growth of the United States. Many of the political characteristics of the young Republic were borrowed by the Founding Fathers from Rome; The U.S. Senate and Congress are based on the Roman Senate and Assembly of the people , while the separation of federal state government reflects the Romans’ distinction between central and provincial rule.” All the system of what we are now is coming from the Roman political structure. Besides the United States many other countries applied the same system.
