Creative Fiction Essay

As Joe walked up the stairs his anger grew.   He needed a place to escape to where he was alone, where no parents could scold him, for no one understood him.   He needed a place so secluded that only the birds could find him.   Once he got to his room, he quickly opened his window and went out onto the roof.   He continued around the house until he was standing right above the trampoline.   Then, without any regrets he jumped and landed on his back.   He hoped his parents were still in the living room, where they could not have spotted him.   He lifted up his head and was in luck, for no one saw him except his beagle Uno.   Next, he slid off the trampoline and made his way to the back of his yard, where he hurdled the fence.

Joe was 13, and at 13 he had already caused more trouble than a school load of kids.   It was only after he moved that he got in trouble.   At school he always wore black, listened to his ipod, and punched anyone who talked to him.   Despite his teachers’ efforts nothing would change him.   Joe failed every class and spent half of every day in detention.   Every time his parents tried to talk to him he stormed upstairs and locked his door.   His parents seemed to think it was a phase and sincerely

hoped that his little sister, Sara, would not go through the “black phase” they called it.

Joe lived in a very rural and new neighborhood outside of Buffalo.   There was always construction going on around his house.   Three streets behind his house was a construction site that had been cleared but had not been touched in five months.   As Joe headed towards the construction site, the sun has already drifted behind the hills far ahead.   When he got there he made his way to a pile of old wood and other trash.   He picked out a large container and turned it upside down to sit on.   After some time he got off his container and lay down on the dirt to make shapes...
