1. “Provide a brief definition of the concept of an organization”
An organization is made up of groups of people who have specific roles and responsibilities who may also work together to complete a purpose determined by the organization. An organization is usually organized in an ordered manner which has a chain of command and has rules which tells member from non members and who is in charge. An organizations activity or result is usually of distributing or disposing persons or things correctly or systematically.
2. “Detail the principal distinctions between manufacturing and service organizations.”
The principle distinctions between manufacturing and service organizations are that service organizations have to face up to try and remain economically competitive while satisfying consumer needs and wants where as automated processes can generate an impact. In manufacturing there is no interaction between employees and customers where as in a service organization there is a lot of personal interaction between the two. This interaction is important to organizations as this can determine a customer’s loyalty to the organization, but also important for employees as they get to interact with different people which would make employees more motivated.
3. “If you had to provide a brief but accurate definition of the concept of work to an alien from another planet, what would you tell them?”
Work is, you doing a mental or physical job for a purpose or out of necessity. What sort of work you want to do or are offered depends on what qualifications, skills, social status, interests, values or personality you have. When agreeing to a contract of employment you offer your skill, effort to an employer, which takes up some of your time and abide by the rules of the contract.
