EFFECTS OF CAFFEINE
What are the effects of caffeine on people?
Caffeine has different effects on different individuals. As we know every person is unique, therefore effects that are caused by caffeine are unique too. Before I started to do research on these effects I wanted to find out what is caffeine, why it has any effects in the first place. “Caffeine is a bitter, white crystalline xanthine alkaloid that acts as a psychoactive stimulant drug and a mild diuretic. In humans, caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant, having the effect of temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness.” To know for sure how caffeine will affect an individual, and for how long, depends on many factors, including the amount of caffeine ingested, whether one is male or female, one's height and weight, one's age, and whether one is pregnant or smokes.
One of the effects of caffeine is sleepiness. It does not affect too many people, only few. About this effect there is not much research, in fact I haven’t found any research at all to support this. Nevertheless for some of my friends, a cup of coffee would make them want to fall asleep.

Some people cannot start the day without a lovely cup of coffee (me, for example). It helps them to wake up, or to start the day in the good mood.
Overall the effects of caffeine are different for each individual. Some individuals caffeine makes sleepy, and some get an extra boost of energy. Others just like the taste of coffee, like me. I drink coffee not because of its effects, but because of its taste. No wonder that “the world drinks about 1.5 billion cups of coffee per day the US alone drinks...
