Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a manic-depressive illness that is described in many different catergories of mood disorders. These mood disorders are followed by the appearance of one or more episodes of abnormal mood changes. Those mood changes are referred to as mania depression or hypomania depression. Extreme manic episodes that happen can sometimes lead to psychotic symptoms that have to do with delusions and hallucinations. This is a brain disorder that is chronic and it is usually left untreated, which may cause a continuous increase in its severity.

The signs and symptoms of this bipolar disorder are usually mania depression and hypomania depression. Mania depression is a severe medical condition that is characterized by extremely elevated mood, energy, unusal thoughts, and abnormal condition of the mind. Abnormal condition of the mind is also psychosis, where people may experience hallucinations or delusion beliefs. That may cause the person's personality to change and have disorganized thinking. Delusions can be caused by being influenced by the person's background or current situations. Also, when a person hallucinate, they can experience an increase of energy and a less need to sleep. Hypomania depression is a lower state of the disorder that does less impair function or decrease quality of life. For hypomania, there is a goal motivated behavior, increase of metabolism, and less need for sleep. This modd and energy level may be a benefit for hypomania depression, while mania depression has many undesirable consequences that may include with things like suicidal tendencies.

Another important sign that comes along with the bipolar disorder is depression. Depression is highly important to many people, for people who are in a depression may think of hurting themselves or suicide.
