Beloved
In the novel Beloved by Toni Morrison a lot of major events happened to the characters in the book. Each character sort of started out feeling and acting one way, and ended the book with a whole new outlook on life. Whether it was because of an event that had happened to them directly or something that happened to some one around them to whom they were very close with.   One character whose personality seems to change drastically is Denver. Denver is Sethe’s daughter, and she is a very shy and to her self-kind of person. Denver seems to be a very tuff child physically but not so much emotionally. She has lived through a few different horrifying circumstances. She dose not like to leave the house or leave her mother side. But through out the novel she changes that identity and that sense of worry a lot.
Denver is the only person in the family that sticks by her mother’s side and stays living in 124. Both of her brothers left because they could not handle the ghost of their dead baby sister “beloved”.   The only other person that lived with Sethe and Denver was her grandmother, Baby Suggs, and she recently passed away. Denvers mother always isolated herself and the rest of the family from the community as long as Denver could remember. Nut if she wasn’t isolated enough once they all leave she becomes even more to her self then every before.   She starts to detach her self from the outside world and thinks that she is never going to be able to escape 124. She becomes overly obsessed with her mother and very protective wanting her only to herself.   Which is why when Paul D comes to the house to visit and starts to stay a while she gets very upset.   She is so used to it just being her and her mother living in the house, along with the occasional visit from the dead baby, she does not like the idea of this man coming in and possibly taking her mothers attention away from her.
