Health communication has focused on the translation of expert dialogue into medical and public health messages for dissemination to lay audiences as a strategy to influence health beliefs and behaviors. Nationality is a the relationship between a person and their state of origin, culture, association, affiliation and loyalty. The language barrier correlates negatively with patient fulfillment and medication compliance. To hearten medication compliance for populations and other non-English orators, written information in the patient's native language concerning the medication reason and side effects should be made available to the patient.
Nationality language is the biggest problem here. Language is one of the primary barriers to health care. Language is an important feature of communication; when there is impairment in the use of language, difficulties occur in communication. Communication between patients and care givers is a fundamental aspect of the health delivery system if understanding between patients and care-givers is to be achieved. Care-givers need to understand the needs of the patients in order to help them; any inability on the part of the patient to express his needs may interfere with his being understood. Communication is the transmission of information from sender to recipient such that the recipient understands what the sender intends. Thus the role language plays in communication cannot be taken for granted inasmuch as it is the medium through which the patient sends across the message of his ailment. The barriers are tough and stereotypical tendencies in relation to minorities can adversely affect the type of care made available to them which may not be the same as the care given to dominant group members.
