Anne Frank: The Summary of the Biography

1. “Anne Frank was born in the women’s clinic in Frankfurt on June 12, 1929, at 7:30 in the morning…” (13). Anne was a very noisy baby but she transformed herself into a curious, reading machine who tried to learn as much as possible. She is the second in her family with an older sister named Margot. Her parents, Otto and Edith Frank were two of the people who influenced her throughout her life. During her childhood, Margot and Anne played with each other and mostly with the neighborhood children. Anne was always kind of jealous of her sister because when they were both young, Margot got more attention than Anne even though she was the baby of the family. The good news is that the sisters took their own time to get used to new ideas in their lives. For example, “She [Anne] had come to Amsterdam from Aachen only four months earlier… Anne had made the adjustment [from the move] better than Margot” (52). As you can see, Anne got accustomed to new traditions in the new house faster than Margot although it is never a competition. The time that Anne spends with her family was crutial for her survival in the secret annex later down the road. To fill the family bonding time, “The Franks took trips, spending the summer holidays of 1937 in the Belgian seaside resort of Middelkerke.” (95). The Frank family took this vacation before the war started yet by remembering the happy times, you can pass the time while you are waiting for the war to finally finish and can come out of your hiding place. We all know that Anne loved to write, hence why there is Diary of Anne Frank on the bookshelves but she also had another passion that was quickly rising. “Although Anne was becoming increasingly interested in boys, she still had a passion for reading.” When ever she could she would read a book that would come for the family while they were living in the secret annex and most of the...
