Annelies Marie Frank, or as many people called her, Anne Frank, was born in Germany on June 12, 1929. She became one of the most famous Holocaust victims after her father, Otto, the only survivor in the Frank family, published her diary.
Anne Frank was a normal kid, she liked boys, she had lots of friends, and she loved to chat! She was a very pretty girl and had a great time with her father which she favored the most of her family. But someone she didn’t favor was her sister Margo. Margo was every mother’s dream; she got good grades and never talked back which of course was the total opposite of Anne. All of her childhood Anne was jealous of her “perfect” sister and tried to be quiet and good but it never really worked. Anne was Anne and she couldn’t change that.
Another thing that Anne couldn’t change was that she was a “Jude” as Hitler and the Nazis called them. Once Anne’s clever father heard on the radio that Germany was becoming less and less safe for Jews, he packed up and moved is family to Holland.
They lived a peaceful 7 years in Holland until the Germans invaded and took total control. Anne and her family’s rights to do pretty much anything were fading away slowly but surely. Soon Otto Frank saw that all of their friends and family members were being taken away to concentration camps, and he decided to go into hiding.
Otto told his secretary at his business that they were going to be hiding in a secret room in the office building and asked if she could help. She agreed and made sure that they were hid. Anne was given a diary for her 13th birthday and brought it with her into hiding. The Franks brought a couple of their Jewish friends with them into hiding.
During the time Anne was in hiding, she wrote in her diary that she named “Kitty” to pass the time away. Kitty was the only thing she could really talk to since they had to be quiet most of the time. Unfortunately, Anne and her family were found after being told...
