America is facing one of the biggest arguments in history. Whether or not Abortion should be legal or illegal. According to Dictionary.com abortion is “the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy.” Woman see this as a fast easy way to end a pregnancy. This is not always the right or safe thing to do in a bad situation. Woman sometimes have accidental pregnancy’s at a young age and right away assume that abortion is the answer. In reality sometimes abortion is the worst thing a woman can do.
Abortion has been around since the early days of time. People would use either sharp tools or physical trauma to destroy an embryo. It is questioned now whether nor not abortion should be legal or illegal. Some people are ok with it but other people see it as homicide. Killing a young baby before it is even born. As of right now in America abortion is legal. There are two types of abortions in America.
The first type of abortion is called clinic abortion. In clinic abortions the health care provider will perform the abortion is medical instruments. Dilation and Evacuation is a type of in clinic abortion. D&E can be preformed anywhere between 10 to 16 weeks after a woman’s last period. In America only 1 out of 10 women will perform a D&E abortion after becoming pregnant.
Dilation and Evacuation is a complicating procedure. A woman must first have her uterus examined. If everything is fine the woman You will get medication for pain. She may be offered IV medication to make her feel more comfortable and relaxed. A speculum is then inserted into her vagina. She will then be given more medication to absorb fluid and stretch out her cervix. Antibiotics are also given at this stage to prevent any infections. A numbing medication is then inserted into or near her cervix. Medical instruments and a suction machine gently empty her uterus. Dilation and Evacuation takes only between 10 to 20 minutes.
