A True Freind
A True Friend As Samuel Johnston once said, "True happiness consists not in the multitude of friends, but in their worth and choice." The term friend is thrown around constantly in today’s time. Dictionary.com gives two very different definitions one being, a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard and the other being, a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile. The public honors so many undeserving people with the title friend that even dictionaries have lost touch with the true meaning of the word. Friendship is the kind of thing that one can only experience through first hand encounters. Acquaintances often come and go but true friends always stay. Having a good friend can usually brighten a bad day, and make one smile since that is what friends are for. A good friend listens to problems and lends useful advice to better their situation. Being a good companion means that no matter what happens one will stand next to their friend's decisions and choices. Although friends do not always agree they still respect each other’s opinion and try to meet an agreement. Often times there is a challenge in camaraderie and sometimes there is an all out loss of friendship. Many people do not always treat their friend in the proper manner, thus resulting in struggles. Most of the time it is a quick argument that ends in a better understanding of the other’s feelings. But sometimes friendships are hindered and it could take a very long time to heal the wounds. A true friend will always come back; fights and disputes test how strong the friendship is. A true team will fight through issues and remain friends until the end.
