A CHOCOLATEY LIFE
Forrest Gump once said, “Life is like a box of chocolates ' you never know what you’re going to get.” This statement connotes a sense of variety among chocolates in terms of flavour, size, and shape. This usually causes one to take a long time in choosing what to get from the box. Indeed, life is unpredictable. You never know what you are going to experience or who you are going to meet. In relation to these ideas, I see myself as one of the chocolates in the box of life. This is because I am unique among all the people in the world. Just as people have different preferences when it comes to chocolates, people may or may not like me. However, the fact remains that I am aware and proud of what I am made of. This, I believe, makes me good enough to build a reputation as a one-of-a-kind chocolate.
Chocolates come in different wrappers and packs which contain the necessary information to show the identity of a certain product. As a person, I see myself as someone who is not shy but proud to show everyone who I am and what I am made of. I avoid hiding my feelings and stand firm by my beliefs. Moreover, just as chocolatiers strive to attend to the desires of their consumers and to be successful in their business, I do my best to adjust to my environment or be flexible whenever I need to. I do not try to please people but I try my best to bridge the gaps created by my weaknesses. I make every effort to improve on my strengths so that I may use them to make me stand out in the end. However, I do not do all these things for perfection. I do these to achieve excellence. Unlike competing brands of chocolates, I believe that real competition is not among different parties. Real competition is between me and me alone.
