1950's

The 1950's were full of many interesting inventions, clothing styles, types of music, medical advances and entertainment. This decade began as the "rebuilding" decade from World War 2.
One of the most helpful and successful inventions during this time was the snowmobile. The snowmobile helped alot of people in snowy weather who weren't able to get around by car. Some people bought them just as an entertainment source, to ride around and have fun. Many took this invention on vacation to places with lots of snow, to help them get around much easier. It was also used to help people haul loads of things. This popular invention is still used today by many people. Riding a snowmobile is very fun and has brought many people help and enjoyment. I think alot of people have valued from this invention.
There were many interesting styles in fifties clothing. One of the most popular styles for women were the poodle shirts and matching skirts. These were usually worn with a letter sweater, which is a sweater that had a letter on it, usually resembling the first letter of your first name. Another trend was to wear scarves arounds your neck or on your head. As for the men, they usually wore a black leather jacket or club jacket over a white t-shirt. Mostly all men wore blue jeans with this type of jacket. Girls, on the other hand, preferred not to wear jeans. They wore fabric pants and skirts, whichever felt more comfortable to them.
Much of the entertainment and music was created during the fifties. The hit television show "I Love Lucy" was the top rated show of the decade. The Mickey Mouse Club was also a hit. Kids and families everywhere were watching these shows. The famous actress and model, Marilyn Monroe, was very popular during this time period. She was an amazing woman, actress, and model.
