Democratic leadership in this title is our choice to recommendation for the organization.
The organization we choose to be our assignment discussion is Great Eastern Life Assurance Company. This company has been well known among all of us. Besides, Great Eastern began its operations in 1908 as a branch office of The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company and was later localized in 1999. The Company remained the largest and most established insurance company in Malaysia.
There are many managers in the company and of cause there have a lot of agents under the manager. However, how does the manager manage their agent to achieve their goal? Therefore, democratic leadership is been using well in this company to achiever their goal. A manager will have a lot of agents and manager cannot use his/her way to ask the agents to get the customers. This is because agents have their own way to produce and intro the product to customer and democratic leadership is the best way to use in this situation.
Nowadays, people will not like to follow rules by rules. They are creative, innovative, self-confidence and so on. Therefore, they have their own minded and own way to achieve the goal that had been given by their manager. If using the autocratic leadership, it might affect their creativity in producing the good performance. So, in fact, many companies are using the democratic leadership in leading and guiding their employee to achieve the goal.
Besides, agents are the one who always face to face to customers and producing the product to the customer. If they communicate with the customer by rules and follow by what the manager ask for. What will the customer feel and think about the company? They will not feel comfortable and feel like the company is trying to make an business with them without concerning their situation.
