I Want a Speech and This Is the Only Way
Hello ! I'm Sam and I am running for sophomore class president! Most of you guys know me or have seen me around school, I mean I'm kind of hard to miss. But, to those of you whom I do not know yet, Hi IM SAM! I am an outgoing, loud person, with a lot of personality. I love to talk and meet new people. Okay let's get to why I'm running and why you should elect me. I'm running for president because I love to see people working together, hand in hand to get things done. I love leaving school everyday knowing I've made a positive impact on the student body. You should elect me because I am a good leader and I am currently a StuCO rep for the freshmen class, so I have experience, I know what works and what doesn't work. I know the commitments involved and there have been many times that I take away from my open labs, or lunch or weekends for student council, and I'm okay with it because I know that time will be spent getting things done. Another reason you should elect me is because I know how to interact with people and I know how to use people's talents in a way that allows them to make a contribution to the group as a whole. Katherine Hepburn said,When I’ve been unsuccessful, I’ve been controlled. When I’ve been successful, I’ve been in control. You should elect me because as president I will delegate, not dictate. I will entrust people with tasks they are willing to pursue, I won't tell them what they have to do. When I was little my mom would always “put me in charge of a small tasks, things that would range from holding the door open for someone to buckling in my little siblings when we were in the car. (she always double checked the buckles) She could have easily done those things by herself and most parents would rather do that than putting their four year old up to it. But she gave me something more than a job to do. She gave me an opportunity to show I could step up. That’s what I want to do as president. I want to give you all opportunities, if youre willing,

An inherent tension between the actual and the possible is revealed through the development of ideas in a speech. This is seen through an intrinsic connection between reality and what can become reality, made obvious by notions presented through, rhetorical devices. This is seen in the prescribed speeches.…

Write a brief monologue (two minutes) in the "voice" of one of these four characters or people (Agamemnon, Hamlet, Prufrock, or John Kennedy). In the monologue, identify what you hope people learn from hearing “your” story. Include reference to your struggles and what can be learned from them. Remember that a monologue is written as if you are the person speaking, using the first person pronoun “I.” In your monologue you must make a connection to at least two of the other characters. How were they like you or different in their discoveries of what you hope people learn?…

I am not running for class president because I have a bigger baseball card collection than the other candidates -- which I do -- but because I am a patriot and I love my class in a totally non-cootie related way. We were once the greatest class in the entire school, and we still are because the principal looks down on us and smiles. He loves our class, I love our class and we are crazy awesome, so keep that in mind while I now explain why we suck so hard.…

In response to this over opinionated segment I would like to express how outraged I truly am. Being a young person today I feel that the majority of us normal everyday youths are being stereotyped into a hood wearing, crime committing and drug abusing association. Throughout my response I am going to voice my perception of your youth hating statement, and give you an insight into the aspiration filled youths, like myself.…

The iconic image I have selected is ‘I have a dream’ speech by Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using the tactics of nonviolence and civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. This picture was taken after he gave his speech in which he calls for an end to racism in the United States and called for civil and economic rights. The “I Have a Dream” speech was given during the march on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. I chose this image because it was a famous image that I knew and wanted to learn more about.…

Awe...I'm glad. And the only burden is what you put on yourself. You are no burden to me whatsoever! I may not suffer from anxiety per se, but I have a slew of other hang ups and issues that make it so I can totally empathize. It's funny how mood can make one perceive things. In my first email I was trying to be super reassuring. I would not want to make you feel worse. But I know what it's like to be in a bad head space where nothing seems to make things better. I am also not going anywhere so get that out of your head.…

This e-text component of my textbook is not effective or useful and not working correctly. This e-text component of my textbook have no purpose and if this e-text does have a purpose it’s not doing what you said it was designed to do. This e-text is so useless in achieving the purpose that it was intended to achieve. This e-text component is what I call ineffective. As we know ineffective is something that does not work correctly or does not do what you want it to do. What did I see? Unfortunately, I only saw a “log in/ make an account page” and after that I saw a page to enter a course ID code, an code in which I do not know. I emailed and emailed just to get steps that didn’t help. The steps was lacking a useful purpose. They basically told me to do what I have already been doing from the start. Afterwards, I was told to skip the course ID page that was crucial to making my account. With that being said I’m unable to make my account. I truly do wish that e-text in the future will be available to me. And not cumbersome. You did mention in your question to use to answer that e-text have study aides, and quizzes and more. Just mentioning them two things alone to me seem like a huge help in achieving the grade I want. I truly to do wish I could go into great details about the functions of e-text. However unfortunately, I can’t. As of now, I will rate e-text one out of ten. Hopefully, one day I can change my rating.…

    I Have A Dream Speech

Throughout the speech, King frequently appeals to pathos, but he uses all three of the Aristotelian appeals effectively. He uses appeal to pathos to let his audience realize what type of condition the African Americans are in. He uses another appeal to logos to persuade the African Americans to take actions and also to use it for transitions. He also uses appeal to ethos to keep the readers and the audiences to be interested. According to King’s speech, he stated, “But one hundred years later, the Negro still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination….And so we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.” This quote means that after one hundred years free from being slaved, African Americans were still not free through discrimination and segregation. That’s why hundreds of thousands of African Americans came at the Lincoln’s Memorial to dramatize these conditions. King uses anaphora on this quote to emphasize the repetition of the phrase at the beginning of the consecutive sentences to let the reader or the audience know what happened after ‘one hundred years.’In paragraph one to six, the purpose of this section was to introduce the information to the audience about what they needed to know. According to King’s speech, he stated, “…a great American…signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves….. But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free…. We’ve come here to dramatize a shameful condition…. In a sense we’ve come to our nation’s capital to cash a bad check….., that has come back marked as “insufficient funds”. But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt.” This quote means that the Emancipation Proclamation was the greatest hope for all African Americans to be free. But after one hundred years, they were given a ‘bad check’ because they were facing through many discriminations and segregations.…

Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most incredible men in the world. He thought that it was not right that African Americans had to drink out of separate water fountains, sit in the corner of restaurants in the ‘colored section’, or give up there bus seat to a white man because it was the law. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist that faught bravely for the freedom of himself and for the freedom of others.…

When I was younger my dream was to become a dancer, as the years passed by I was falling more and more in love with the idea of being able to tell a story with just some music and my body. When I was 14 I remember dancing for all the presidents of South America, I felt so proud of myself because what president would have time for a little girl with that nonsense. It was so easy to move around, along with the music, to put on facial expressions when they where needed to make it more dramatic and convincing. It was so easy for me to get their attention because I was doing something I loved and was confident of. The funny thing is that once I was up to talking one on one with the Colombian president my hands became sweaty my knees became week, my face red and my hair greasy and I am pretty sure I drove him crazy moving around from side to side.…

Ladies and gentlemen, I have come here to talk to you about one of my hobbies, kayaking. A common misconception is that a kayak is the same as a canoe, but this is not the case. There are a number of differences between a kayak and a canoe, the main difference is that in a kayak, you are enclosed, unlike in a canoe, whose cockpit is much like a boat. Also, a kayak is normally for one person only and a canoe is for a number of people. Finally, in general, a canoe has only one paddle. While a kayak has two that are joined together with one shaft.…
