2. How do you think the team evolved to this low level of cooperation and cohesiveness?…
It could be said that the American Civil War was brought on by Americans need to expand its territories and the one sided Mexican War. The whole debate or controversy over this expansion was David Wilmot’s (and his squad of backers: Hamlin, Brinkerhoff, and King) trying to implement the Wilmot Proviso into the funding for the Mexican territories we acquired. The proviso actually fueled the debate over slavery into the newly acquired territories by trying to make the territories slave free acquisitions. The Wilmot Proviso was a simply desire to make newly acquired territories free from slavery. As pointed out in the opening of this discussion however, banning slavery in these territories was a mute point in the fore front. So what impact did the Wilmot Proviso have on the debate over slavery in America? It actually seemed to create a debate were one did not actually exist.…
They all worked very well together you could see the relationships they had built when they played together. Their music was elegant and smooth, their tones and notes were all within the same range. There were a few mistakes the band members made that I could tell. They were able to keep going strong and not let the mistake slow them down though. Everyone in the band had solos to be able to show off their individual talent, although most of the solos were by the saxophones and the trumpets. The second song with vocals had two men and one girl. The men did very well and had ranges of notes that were very low, while the girl only sang when there were high notes that needed to be reached. In the last song there was the most solos, nine in total. This was my favorite song to watch the band perform while some of the others were my favorite to listen too. In the last song the band let loose and I could tell they were having fun. They were all moving around while playing their instruments. They really embellished their solos and they all looked happy while…
1. WESCO is a classic intermediary in the channel and must add value for both suppliers and customers to maintain this intermediary position (i.e., otherwise the suppliers might be tempted to “dis-intermediate” WESCO and go direct).…
The Wilmot Proviso was first prompted by the ending of the Mexican-American War. The war was a conflict between Mexico and the United States during 1846 to 1848. After the annexation of Texas, the United States’ relationship with Mexico was getting more tense. The U.S. had a blockade off the coast of Mexico, and went South through California in order to physically invade parts of Mexico. Those who opposed the war were either Whig or anti-“the spread of slavery.” This is because those who were against the institution of slavery did not want to acquire new territory: with the acquisition of new territory came new potential for more plantations. The end result of the war resulted in the negotiation (under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo) to attain Texas, as well as the rest of the land to the Pacific Ocean. This total expanse attained nearly half of Mexico.…
When I think about law enforcement, the thoughts that come to mind are to protect and serve its citizens, its people, and the innocent. The Waco Siege is an example of what happens when Law Enforcement Agencies fail to do their most basic job, protect the innocent. The Waco tragedy could have been avoided if the Law Enforcement Agencies involved had done their job of protecting the innocent and did not make such catastrophic tactical errors.…
I believe the band should stay independent and continue to work with UFO, although the group will have to use their money to market, manage, promote, and record they will still end up being more profitable. Even though signing to a label would take care of the marketing aspects, the band would have to make big paybacks that they may never be able to fund, with them being a Celtic band. The labels model itself works with more mainstream music that reaches out to a wide audience, so the Celtic band wouldn’t work because not many people listen to Celtic music. I feel like ETH would be dissatisfied and they would end up with little to no profit at all by the time they were done because they do not have enough people who listen to their music to fund them. The label would have to change ETH’s sound to try to reach a widespan of people.…

Instead of persuading others to follow her agendas, what Casey need to do is acting as an aggressive hawk, the earlier, the better. In that case, Casey just leave the other specialists in an awkward position---they need to make a choice ---compromise or not . Once seeing what Casey strived to protect her self-interest , the other specialists who are not that ambitious to push their own agendas will make concession sooner or later. Since no one wants the project to go to a dead end, which is an lose lose situation for everyone, the others may probably follow her agendas to ensure the project can be finished on time, and Casey just protect her own interest.…
At NJVC there was only one employee who was willing to try to resolve the conflict that existed in the organization among the employees and the Lead Manager. The team members were mad at one team member because she would not turn against the Lead Manager. They wanted her to turn against him and when she didn’t they treated her unfairly. The employees at NJVC did not communicate with each other to try to resolve the group conflict that existed, the manager had poor communication skills. NJVC did not value the manager and their employees because they should have trained their manager thoroughly in a Manager Trainee Program so that he would have been taught the necessary skills to be able to run the day to day operations of a business.…

Communication between the two parties is the biggest problem identified in this case. There is Elizabeth and Natalia on one side and Henry on the other. The difference here is that one side was able to clearly state his side. They are all artists and do not appreciate the interference with their artistic side. Natalia is part of this company due to the fact that she was a talented and respected dancer with them. Elizabeth, on the other hand, has to earn the boards respect by respecting the artistic talent and following the company’s values. She failed to communicate effectively how customer intelligence can help the company’s mission. She continues to refer to the company as “you” not including her as part of the team. Natalia also did not present the case with enough confidence to the board. Both Natalia and Elizabeth failed to present key points about the survey. For example, the surveys can point out the most valuable points from their customers, what day’s customers prefer to go see the shows, etc.…
Short in Stature Kirbys group perceives him as a selfish and controlling individual. He is someone who doesnt care about others ideas, but his own. Many managers lack basic training in managing people. But, even more importantly, managers lack the values, understanding, and awareness needed to interact effectively all day long with people. Skills and techniques are easier to teach, but values, beliefs, and attitudes are much harder to teach - and harder for managers to learn. A manager must believe in teamwork and must depend on others for him/her success as well. How should Kirby have attempted to gain acceptance of his plan for a new production schedule There are many ideas to how Kirby could have tried to gain acceptance prior to the meeting. Kirby could have discussed his ideas prior to the larger meeting and received input as to how everyone thought this plan would play out. It is obvious by the side conversations that were going on that no one likes Kirby and are now afraid to speak up or gave up on speaking up because change does not happen. After the meeting Kirbys confrontation with Nancy was awful and he could have delivered his feelings differently to her. I think that if Kirby would have told asked Nancy for her input on how she thought the plan should be scheduled than Nancy most likely would have changed a few things about the original plan and things would not have gotten out of control. Kirby, in my opinion, should take some leadership classes. How should Kirby have attempted to gain acceptance of his plan for a new production schedule Like I mentioned above, I dont think a whole new production schedule would have been needed, but only a few adjustments to the existing one that Kirby created. A team is formed to help all part of the group and to hopefully help everyone grow in their own strength. A group is there to help where others are weak and to be helped by others with their strengths. Kirby should have been more open-minded and…
