Why Martin Luther King Should Work
First and foremost, leadership is a quality we can see through many historical figures who have accomplished essential projects. Showing us the skills of a good leader, to change the mindset of lots of people, and create a connection between their ideas and their actions. As a result, they give us clues about how a leader should work, such as being courageous, hardworking, and determined.
To start with, leadership needs bravery and courage. Leaders, like Rosa Parks, define the power and consistency of a leader. She was a leader who objected to segregation of Afro-Americans, into buses. White people disrespected them, as if they were worthless. We can see these qualities in Martin Luther King Jr. who showed determination as a leader. Luther King had a connection with Rosa Parks, because he led the bus boycott the same night that she was arrested. After that, courts ruled that bus transportation couldn't be segregated. He is an excellent example of persistence and focus, ending up with nonviolent protests, to make this a significant fact in favor of black people's rights. We can understand that his leadership could move many people in order to join his idea, inspiring and getting other leaders to join in his projects to be listening. He did a great job, and thanks to that, many black people have been getting a better quality of treatment, with no more problems with sitting on the buses or getting kicked out because of how they look. In fact, the acts that Luther King did are a demonstration of a determined and good leader. Third, it is important for a leader to be a hard worker and dedicated. Abraham Lincoln is a good example of these qualities. The reference to the text "U.S. Presidents: Abraham Lincoln" mentioned the Lincoln's law: "Your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing." This quote shows his visionary leadership, encouraging other people to be focused on their own purposes. Lincoln had a hard time when he was young. He had to work to pay the debts of his failed store. He started as a farmer, whose dream was to make a change, to free the enslaved African Americans. Despite his money conditions, he wanted to know how to read and speak, at the point that he did it. He has a connection with either Parks or Luther. He succeeded in his cause, and twice of the most important leadership skills that he had, were a good writer and a good speaker, both of them, helped him to communicate and attract people to follow him, all of this by his hardworking and dedication as a leader.
