We have no control over a pop-quiz or an unsuspected season ending injury, but being an athlete has taught me that there are two things I can always control-- attitude and effort. The transition from high school to college will be challenging, but with a confident attitude and courageous effort, I know that I will continue to be successful throughout college. Learning to overcome adversity is one of the greatest lessons a person will ever learn, and I am grateful that playing sports has prepared me to do so in my life.
During my time at Harrisburg High School, being an athlete is my favorite thing that I have been. I would not value my experience of high school nearly as much had I chosen to not participate in athletics. The lessons I have learned and the friendships and memories that I have collected through playing high school sports are something that I will carry with me throughout my entire life. Absolutely nothing compares to looking in the dugout, or on to sideline and seeing faces of teammates, friends, and coaches who support and value you and that is something I would never want anyone to miss out
