Change, we have all experienced it change at one stage of our life, for the better or maybe even for the worse. But change is a normal part of our life’s, and we have to deal with it the best we can. After studying these texts, Raw by Scott Monk, Andrew Denton’s interview with Aron Ralston, and the short storey the Final Game by Olivia Coleman. My understanding of change has broadened and i am now much more aware of people’s experiences and how they have overcome and dealt with change.…
The story involves four characters who live in a maze: the mice Scurry and Sniff, and two 'little people', Hem and Haw. All is going well because they have found a huge source of their favorite food, cheese. Hem and Haw have even moved their houses to be near it and it has becomes the center of their lives. But they do not notice that it is getting smaller, and are devastated when they arrive at the site one morning and find the cheese is gone. The mice, Sniff and Scurry possessed simple rodent brains but good instincts searched for the hard nibbling cheese they liked. In contrast, the two little people Hem and Haw, used brains filled with many believes and emotions to search for a different kind of cheese which they believed would make them feel happy and successful. This is where the story splits in two. Scurry and Sniff quickly accept the loss of the cheese and go off into the maze in search of other sources. The little people, because they have built their lives around the big cheese, feel they are the victim of some kind of fraud or theft. Yet this only makes things worse, as their clinging on ensures that they go hungry. Meanwhile, the mice move on and find new cheese.…
Change is an inevitable process of life and can be the most complexing and difficult thing we come to face in our lives. It is something we must overcome in many aspects, shapes and forms. However in whatever form it comes our way, we must embrace it and not be afraid because a fear of change can lead to an unfulfilled life. In my opinion change is a very complex thing and can be embraced though it is a hard process it is also a fact of life. The Catcher in the Rye, The Door and Dead Poets Society contributed to my new understanding of change.…
Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Charlie experienced both kind of changes. All the ideas tie together because they all support the idea of change. Charlie’s changes went from good and then to bad. Not everything that changes is good. But on the other hand, Not everything is bad either. So, now you see in this story that everyone experiences change. This story relates to my topic because it shows good examples of good and bad change. Remember, Change is unavoidable and will always happen, but it's the way you choose to deal with it is what will make it good or…
New changes require much perseverance to get used to them. In the novel The Call of the Wild, a dog named Buck is forced from doing something he is used to, to doing something completely different. In contrast, my dad chose to switch his job to a new one and Buck was forced to change his normal lifestyle. Although Buck and my dad got into their situations differently, they both had to persevere to get used to the new changes. Everyone has to persevere to get used to new changes and struggles, no matter the situation.…

As much as I believed I loathed change and do not do well with change, I was again mistaken. I look for innovative ways to better myself all the time. Going to Ted’s fishing station and taking the boat out, the beautiful beaches that surrounded the pensillia, giving my first dog paddington away to a neighbor, leaving my best and only friend Jack Gilmore behind. I have actually only seen him once since I left New York. It was hard transitioning to all theses new changes in my life and at the time I didn’t know it, but this was the foundation for a lesson I’ve learned over the years. That lesson is to cherish what you have, because any day that can drastically change. Change, is a misunderstood concept in the life of a human being. It is always present, and can take many different shapes. Sometimes it’s for the good and sometimes it’s for the worse. The only combatant against change is acceptance, to have open arms to new things, or to keep swimming through the tough…
It’s easy to make a goal rather than to achieve it. However, with determination one can succeed in accomplishing it. I have accomplished one of many goals in my list and that's to attend college. In my family not a lot attended college or even finished high school, so accomplishing this goal is a big subject of matter to my family.Getting this far is even a big accomplishment in my eye’s, especially when you break free from an assembly line of generations that never had attended college. The feeling is still overwhelming, mainly because I’m the first of many generations in my family to accomplish something big like…
With longing for a bright future I was aware that I would be sacrificing hours of leisure time in favor of spending time studying, but I was undaunted by this realization. I acknowledged the fact that hard work pays off, and the only way to make a difference in my life and become the best version of myself was to put a little blood, sweat, and tears into my work. In addition, to committing my time to school I have…

As stated in the book "Who Moved My Cheese" by Dr. Spencer Johnson, people are generally uncomfortable with change; people won't change unless they have to. Change brings about uncertainties and many people tend to associate the negative outcomes with change. Nevertheless, a quote by John F. Kennedy, "change is the law of life, and those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future," clearly pointed out the need for us to deal with changes. I believe that adapting to change is important in every aspect of our lives.…
“Who Moved My Cheese?”, written by Dr. Spencer Johnson entails a story about four characters and their mission to acquire new cheese, with cheese being used to represent things in life that we desire which in return provides a sense of happiness and comfort such as a job, healthier lifestyle or spiritual peace. The characters Sniff and Scurry are mice and the other two Hem and Haw are little people, are used to represent human beings when they are placed in situations where they must learn to adapt to change and ultimately capitalize on it to gain the best of the…

We are the directors in this life of ours and have the power to make the choices to find that new cheese once our old cheese has been moved, taken, and or ruined, meaning when change happens.…
