This is a essay on the correct appearance and wear of the Army PT uniform because I failed to meet the standards and did not have my uniform complete. It is important to be in the right place at the right time with a positive attitude and in the right uniform at all times. Being in the correct uniform is important to the Army. A soldier should always be in the right uniform because it is a part of the Army standard and should be adhered to at all times both on and off duty. It represents the Army, our company. our cadre and what we stand for. It is also important for soldiers to follow directions and to listen and pay attention to what either the regulation states or what your command told you. If you're not able to follow simple directions, how are you supposed be trusted to follow the major tasks that you're asked to perform either at work, on the battle field or at home. The little things reflect on what you will or will not be able to do when you are asked to handle big tasks. Not following simple directions can effect a situation negatively or could possibly get you or your battle buddy injured, hurt or killed. The little things or small tasks may not seem like a big deal at the time but there is always a reason why you need to do things a certain way. It is not in our job description to ask questions or wonder why, we are suppose to just do what we are told without any

Attention to detail is one of the most important aspects of a good soldier, a good officer and a good leader. The smallest of details are often the ones that can threaten the success of a mission, and can mean the difference between life and death. Many people can happily go about their lives with no worries about the small aspects of life that those in the military have been trained to observe. The United States military is an established institution with a history that goes back hundreds of years and some of the greatest military minds have developed the means and methods that are still in use today. Every aspect has been considered and every situation has been taken into account. Because of this long process of review and refinement, army regulations are precise, in order to address scenario’s that can and will be encountered in the field. It is especially relevant during tactical operations, where saying one wrong digit in a string of coordinates can mean that a soldier won’t receive medical attention in time, or an air strike accidentally kills dozens of civilians.…

“Right place, right time, right uniform.” I first heard that from and old First Sergeant of mine; and he said it regularly. Each piece of the sentence seems arbitrary, even self-explanatory, but for some it is difficult of to execute. This paper is going to briefly explain each of the three parts, with emphasis on ‘time’.…

Military discipline and effectiveness is built on the foundation of obedience to orders. Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from day-one of boot camp. Which is why we work so well by following orders from the more experienced leaders who have been doing this for years. We have plenty of obedience in Charlie company and I feel it is one of the best units I have been in. It has made me want to persue a carreer in the military and I no rules and regulations is what is going to make me move up the ranks and make me a all around better soldier. I no I need to work on discapile sometimes and am doing corrective training right now to make me become a better sodier. So in my essay I have listed many chararistics which in the history and present day made…

The US Army 670-1 is the basis for the wear and appearance of all military uniforms to include ACU , BDU, DCU, ASU, and all PT uniforms. It was formed so that all soldiers wear the uniform the same to instill discipline and a professional appearance. This regulation applies to officers and enlisted the same. It was formed to give the exact dimensions for badges tabs patches and rank. The proponent of this regulation is the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1. The proponent has the authority to approve exceptions or waivers to this regulation that are consistent with controlling law and regulations. The proponent may delegate this approval authority, in writing, to a division chief within the proponent agency or its direct reporting unit or field operating agency, in the grade of colonel or the civilian equivalent. Activities may request a waiver to this regulation to this regulation by providing justification that includes a full analysis of the expected benefits and must include formal review by the activity’s senior legal officer. All waiver requests will be endorsed by the commander or senior leader of the requesting activity and forwarded through their higher headquarters to the policy proponent. Refer to AR 25-30 for specific guidance. As stated there in the beginning of the 670-1 there is only a few people that actually have the power to change or alter the uniform. So the big things looked for in uniform discrepancies is lopsided rank or badges, gaps in the badges to the army patch. And all ribbons are in order. We have these rules to keep the public view and the universal view of our army as professional and not a group of missfits. A sense of pride should be in every soldier as to how they where there uniform which today soldiers tend to wear the uniform however they please with no corrections or actions taken by those appointed over them. Now this is not only a problem in leadership but in the individual soldier. Todays army problems are starting from the very…

How to wear the army uniform is important because when we put on the uniform we don’t just represent ourselves but the army as a whole as well. One thing I have learned in my short 20 years of life is how important the clothes you wear impact you as person. Because they can be tell tell sings of what type of person you are. As in the book “APPERANCES” witch talks about how the clothes you wear can say a lot of what type of person you are, or how do you live your lifestyle. When I was a little boy I would always watch how a few of my neighbors, which were in…

Another good point, everyone wearing the same uniform makes it hard for the enemy to count how many soldiers are attacking. If everyone is different it is easy to distinguish individuals and therefore easier to count them. If we all look the same it makes it very hard to count us because we nearly blend together. The uniform is designed to soften the outline of the human body and they will easily miscount soldiers. Also, there is a reason we have an a SOP for our full battle rattle, everything is in the same spot so it will be easy and quick to find a wounded soldiers IFAK or other supplies. In a combat situation speed and efficiency is critical. Another example is safety, we all wear our armor plates and kevlars (even patches) in specific way because its is the most effective way to wear them. Being an individual or thinking you are special in this situation could cost you your life. Finally for camaflouge, DUH! What dumbass would wear their PTs to a combat mission?…

One thousand words on discipline, one thousand words on the Army Values, and one thousand words on what being a Soldier means to me, not counting words that are less than three letters in length, which i dont uderstand because they are words too, poor little guys, just cause theyre small , they don't exist? Discipline, this part of the rbi is being written and discussed on discipline. I am condudcting this rbi because myself along with a few other soldiers in the platoon fucked up today and since i am on profile and cannot conduct the pushup and the sittup, my profile states that i can only walk at my own pace a distance for Physical Training, which is now called PRT standing for Physical Readiness Training, therefore writing this rbi is the punishment my leaders deemed neccesary for corrective action toward myself and others that fucked up in the platoon. RBI's are given to soldiers for corrective action sometimes because we need trining on writing essays esspecially if a soldier is getting out of the army soon, like myself, i get out of the army in july of this year therefore i am actually kind of glad that i have to do this becaue i need to sharpen my essay skills anyway, so thankyou. Disciline means control gained by enforcing obedience or order. It also means orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior. Discipline is important in all situations by everyone young and old, big or small, short or tall, white or black, or hispanic, or asian. so any race religion hieght or weight, no matter who you are or what job you have, whether it be in the army navy airforce marines or even if you work at wal-mart, or k-mart or chuckee cheeze, or even mcdonalds, but most importantly in the military, army, and military police corp, discipline is one of the most important traits a person can have. Discipline can vary from keeping yourself from eating the last piece of pizza or doing the wrong thing, such as not going to a class you are told to show up at, (even if you…

The main reason for this essay is because I did not follow out proper orders and was not at the correct place of duty for PT/Accountability formation at the correct time. Although there was a miscommunication, granted on my half, there is still no excuse for me to miss a formation. I want to be an excellent soldier and I want to excel in the military. The first step I need to put into action is always making sure I am at the appropriate place of duty at the correct time or preferably with time to spare. This is a simple task that is easy and painless to ensure, and it will be accomplished.…

SOP, or standard operating procedure, is a detailed, written instruction to achieve uniformity of the performance and appearance of a specific function. In the military the sop is suppose to be a reference for soldiers to consult whenever they have doubts about their knowledge on the proper way to complete an action. They have both operational and technical components, and they are essential to the development and deployment of solutions, as well as daily operations. My introduction to the Barracks SOP was when I arrived here at DLI. During Ph IV, I was told that to survive here or anywhere in the Army I needed to know the Barracks SOP from front cover to back cover. I did take the time to learn how my barracks room was to supposed to be arranged with the furniture and also the proper way all my clothes need to be folded and stored while I wasn’t wearing them. Also it described how to properly make my bed and the protocol for having visitors. Despite graduating from PH IV and demonstrating my ability to adapt to the strict terms of military life, I recently failed to follow a direct order that is written in my Barracks SOP. This is the cause for this corrective action and below I will describe my deficiency and the details of it. But, I also will educate myself on the importance and formation of a SOP by researching for the precious information that I will need to make this 1500 words.…
