The Controversy Of Helping Others
People should not be more concerned about others, because if you think too much about others you will not think in yourself. Although, I know that helping other people who might need your help, will make you feel better, but the other people have their own life, and they are big enough to think in their own. You should not always be helping others, I’m not saying that is wrong, but when you need help from them you will not receive the help you were expecting to get. Sometimes we can be so generous with them, and help those who need it in whatever they might need. But always remember that you also have a life, and not taking care of your life can cause you problems. In conclusion, not always be concerned with others, because if one day

I take pride in everything that I do and strive to give my all to the people who need my help, and this is the basis of my personal model of helping. I cannot give someone only part of my effort because the individual may not take me serious and not be able to use the help that I am offering. My goal in offering this help is to assist them in overcoming any negative situation they are trying to get out of. People reach out for help and when they do so they want the best help that they can find because they can seek a positive resolution. I know that circumstances in life can take a toll on a person, and these circumstances cause them to be in the situation that they are seeking help for but to change their behavior and improve themselves they need to give 100% as well as the people who are offering help to them.…

Selfishness is perceived as bad traits were societies only care for oneself (Selfishness, n.d.). Spencer (1897) explains that egoism takes place before altruism. Spencer (1897) strongly agrees with the evolution theory, saying that the only way for people to survive is to be selfish. It is believe that their own selfish motives are more important for their existence (Spencer 1897). It is because if an individual care or takes care of oneself first, this individual has more chance or surviving (Spencer, 1897). Egoism is the act of behaving self-interestedly, and is perceived as a negative trait even though it can be seen as a tool of survival (Rosenstand, 2003: 131). However, there is an opposing theory, which is altruism. Altruism is defined as a concern for the welfare of others and is considered virtuous (Rosenstand, 2003: 150). We are often made aware of heroes who risk their lives for others and these heroes inspire many. We are encouraged to be altruistic, early in our lives. Nonetheless, one notices how altruist acts usually include rewards, even if it’s just a simple thank you. This leads to questions such as, does true altruism exist, or do people always have a motive as to why they perform altruistically?…

First, small acts of kindness might cause the domino effect. Second, acts of kindness can make people’s day. Finally, doing small acts of kindness makes you a good role model for younger people. As a result, a small act of kindness can make a positive impact on another person’s life.…

I have had a very tough, not easy, no help life, and yet I’ am always the first one to lend a helping hand to someone else. I volunteer at my local church to clean up local areas, I volunteer at the nursing home entertaining and accompanying the elderly, I also do some volunteer work at a local animal shelter. When you come from a place where no one has really ever helped you achieve or even move forward you become one of two people. The person who is bitter and will never lend a helping hand, or the person who never wants someone to go through what they have been through in life. I’ am person number two. I have experienced a lot of tragedy, disappointment, and rough times in my life. For being so young it is difficult to take it all in, yet I still know how to help when help is needed. If only there was someone to have the same mentality as me, and help when I needed it. There should be more people out there willing to lend a…

Throughout my life I have wanted to help others and found myself in jobs which involved looking after people. I examined my motivation for helping others; I have sometimes helped others because it made me feel useful, accepted and valued. At times in my life, I have experienced low self esteem. Therefore by helping someone, I have felt useful and valued, which has in turn increased my self esteem. This is certainly not a healthy motivation for helping others.…

People are selfish by nature, however we have demonstrated times of great sacrifice when such sacrifice is needed. Helping other people is an act most of us perform without even thinking about it. For centuries neighbors have help other neighbors, families have helped other family members and internationally, governments have given other countries’ governments advice, food, medical care, military help or financial support. We live in a country that has always been there for other countries that have needed our help whether they have wanted it or not. Have you ever thought about how selfless Americans are in a time of war or great national tragedy and how selfish we are in times of peace? This might be because in times of peace we are so involved…

I pay no attention to what I need to get done or what I am currently doing. If someone needs me, I am at their immediate disposal. It was eleven o'clock at night on a tuesday. I had just finished my homework. It felt like I had not slept in over a week and that as soon as I lay down I would be out cold. I turned off my light and was about to turn off my phone, when I noticed my friend texted me. She was really upset because she got in a fight and she needed someone to comfort her. I thought she impacts the world and others, if I improve her than I can improve the world. Even if my personal needs are discarded, it saves the world. What is the point in me being happy if everyone else is sad. I turned my light back on and once again shut the door to what I needed. I talked and talked for hours making sure my friend was okay. It was three in the morning when my friend was finally soothed, but I was tired and needed sleep. I denied myself a necessity because others always come first. Even if it means physically damaging myself, I will make sure others are…

Throughout history demonstrations of “people helping people” have sprung up nonchalantly to provide services for citizens without looking to gain any sort of profit or reward for providing each of the services that have been established. Instead, they seek to gain the feeling of satisfaction to see the prosperity of others. Credit unions are one of many important and valuable examples of the foundation of “people helping people”.…
