Summary Of Draco's Transition
Determining a child’s age, and current stage of development, can be achieved by observing the behaviors he or she exhibits. “Although children develop at different rates, there are common stages of development that serve as guidelines for what most children can do by a certain age” (Groark, McCarthy & Kirk, 2014). While observing Draco in the video, Draco’s Transition to Group Time (n.d.), one can determine that Draco is a special-needs child, the milestones he has yet to achieve, and the milestones he has achieved.

Furthermore, child care professionals can support children in these areas by becoming familiar with a child’s interests and strengths and using this knowledge as a basis for planning various activities that will help a child with delays, like
