A learning style is the way in which a person processes new information. In the learning system there are three main types of learning which are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. People may learn best by being taught with the three learning methods, but others may not. Visual learners are people who learn by seeing. These people learn more where there are images, graphs, diagrams, and colors involved. Visual learners are learners that first have to see what they are expected to know. Auditory learners learn best by hearing. Lastly, there is the kinesthetic learners, also known as tactile learners, those learners learn best by the physical activity. In a class the students’ way of learning might not be the way the professor…
A learning style simply means how one learns and remembers information. Visual, auditory, or kinesthetic are the different learning styles. Learning styles can greatly go with personality, for instance a visual learner is usually neat and organized, while a kinesthetic learner is not so organized and impulsive. The visual learner thinks with pictures, likes to write things down, and can usually retain information easily. The auditory learner listens to information best and can usually verbalize and tell stories. Finally, the kinesthetic learner is a hands-on learner, likes to move around, and usually does not like to read directions. A teacher needs to recognize what type of learner each student is to understand how the student processes…
Directions: Briefly describe the results of your learning styles inventory. Identify 2 different settings in which you could apply the results of the inventory. For example, you could consider two different classes that you will take and describe how learning strategies may differ depending upon the subject you are studying. Identify and describe 4 techniques that will support your learning and retention.…
I took the learning style inventory test and the results showed I am an auditory learner. Moreover, I remember information easily when the information is given through someone speaking or by sounds. My understanding from taking the test is that the methods of auditory learning are musical notes, voice recordings or chants to remember the information being shared.…
The benefits of gaining knowledge about Learning Styles, and how to apply strategies that will enhance learning in many different capacities:…
Auditory learners depends on hearing and speaking as a main way of learning. Auditory learners must be able to hear what is being said in order to understand and may have difficulty with instructions that are written. They also use their listening and repeating skills to sort through the information that is given to them. These learners are…
Every course is a different learning style, using a variety of different styles that apply help retain the concept of the material. By using visual images and pictures help retain some difficult task in mathematics. When things do not require a lot of concentration, I use the aural method, allowing music to guide me in the communication process. The Aural method usually happens late night after a difficult day. In the complicated subjects that require the most attentive concentration and energy, using the solitary learning style helps best. The need of silences is necessary in private and noise free room. This learning style allows retain new information for a test and using flashcards as well. These two styles are crucial in the learning process for new information.…
Doing the personal evaluation was harder than I expected it to be. The most effective way for me to learn information is the Auditory Learning Style and Kinesthetic Learning Style. My score was 22% Visual, 50%Auditory and 28% Kinesthetic. As I read the tendencies for both the Auditory and Kinesthetic learning styles I checked each tendency that I do on a daily basis and realized that it’s split down the middle. As I was growing up I had a problem retaining information that I read. I would read a paragraph and forget half of what I read or just lose interest in it, then start over again. My first grade teacher caught on to this. When she would read out loud I wouldn’t have any problems remembering what she said. She gave me two things to try. One was to read out loud and see if I remember the information I just read. Two was to read it then write it down. At times I would write the same thing down up to five times. By doing this I was able to retain the information.…
* My personal learning style is Tactile (also known as kinesthetic) learners. I learn best by touching or doing. Doing lots of practice problems will be important. Writing out my study sheets and doing my practice test repeatedly will be important strategies for me. My personal learning style can help me develop information longer and help me to succeed in school and life.…
I have taken two online learning style assessments to determine my personal learning style. According to the Learning Style Inventory (Bixler, 2010) and The Center for New Discoveries in Learning (The Center for New Discoveries in Learning, 2012) my preferred learning style is auditory. This is the first time that I can recall ever taking an assessment on my learning style as I normally would answer with my preferred method as either visual and/or kinesthetic. When I learned that based off my answers on both of these two assessments, I felt like I have to mostly disagree to the results. I normally do prefer to learn by visual presentations as well as kinesthetic. The reason I feel that I can learn from both visual and kinesthetic is very dependent on the topic or the level of interest I have in the subject matter. I have been in…

I am an auditory learner; I do best if I hear material rather than reading it. My reading style will help my students a great deal because a large majority of people are auditory learners, and given that I also identify with that, I feel that I will be able to assist my students learn in a manner that they can best retain new material.…
Each individual in a class may fall in several group therefore the teacher should incorporate all VARK modalities when teaching their student. This will help all the students to learn instead of just a particular group of students. A teacher must cater to the attention of the Visual learner by doing role models, giving demonstration, showing visual aids or presentation of diagrams and charts to help the visual learner achieve their goal of learning. The teacher should be aware the students learning styles to create a meaningful session. If all the students in a class are aural learners the session would mostly involves lectures, instead of giving out pamphlets and giving chapters from text book to read. All this may go well for the read/write group of learners but does not help aural learners. This will help the teacher because her students will learn better and time would be used appropriately. A student can choose their method of study if they are aware of their study style. Classroom setting may go well for an aural learner and read/write learner. They will have the opportunity of listening to lectures given by their teacher and then take notes and seek clarification through asking questions. A practical course may go well for a visual learner as well as a kinesthetic they get the chance of looking at demonstration or a picture of the actual content of what is being taught. There are several types of learning style which include auditory, visual, and tactile. My learning style is an auditory learner which means I learn better by listening and hearing. I tend to store my information by how it sounds not looks; therefore written instruction is hard for me I rather hear my directions. People tend to think I am not paying attention but I really am hearing them and understanding better than they think. Sometimes you will find me reading out…
There are three main types of learning styles: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Most people learn best through a combination of the three types of learning styles, but everybody is different.…
